Just some things I’ve noticed about Rap that has to change somehow because it’s either:
A) Lame as Fuck
or
B) Making people lame as fuck
So here we go!

Just a picture to lighten the mood.
Only in Hip-Hop…
…Do these artists need to have "beef". Why? Has there ever been a beef that resulted in something positive happening?
I doubt it. People just want to hear a few "hot" tracks aimed towards others then move on to something else.
People seem to forget because of this awesome Rap tradition that Pac and Biggie were murdered (maybe among other reasons), yet, everyone wants their favourite rappers to attack someone just for the fuck of it!
Then it becomes a shitty discussion who would win this "beef" (that will never occur) based on who had a better recent CD. Yah, that discussion will be resolved sometime soon…

No witty remarks for this one. The joke is right there.
…Do the fans need to determine who "killed" who on whatever track has recently leaked. When BP3 leaked, all I ever read was, "Kanye MURDERED Jay!" "Jeezy merked that old ass nigga!" "J. Cole Got’em on that joint!"
Really? It’s not enough to just like the track as a whole instead of determining who had a better verse and then feeling the need to post your amazing discovery to the internet world?
People STILL go on about the Em Vs Jay on Renegade. "Em had a crazy flow, but Jay’s shit was more relatable." blahblahblah. But that’ll be touched on later.
Not every rap song is a competiton, if that’s what you’re into, go watch WWE, as that also contains fake "fighting".

OMG! Kanye DID NOT murder Jay-Z! RAWWRR
…Do some people come up with the craziest ways to discredit a song. The one I’ve been seeing recently is the whole "I can’t relate to it" bullshit. I understand that some songs you want to kind of connect to it, but not every song.
Music is a form of entertainment, do you also like to see movies and play video games you can relate to? I don’t recall anyone in the theatre after ‘Rambo’ commenting, "I like this movie, I can totally relate to it." If someone had said that though, I might have to give him a high five.
It’s like looking in a mirror
…Do the artists not give a fuck about hooks. Well, that’s not totally fair, as some still actually write and perform their own hooks (Eminem – Relapse, 50 Cent -BISD. First couple off the top) as others just seem to have the title of the song on loop while chanting some bullshit in the background, AUH!, or they just recruit the current biggest R&B artist to do it for them.
Random Rapper: "Hey, Akon, I have this rap-changing song about how rich I am, how many women I fuck on a regular basis, why I’m better than everyone else in the rap game and how cool looking my car is…but I’m retarded and can’t write a simple hook, can you help me out?"
Akon: (Opens up a drawer full of pre-written hooks) "Uhh, yeah, I got one that’s just perfect for you or any other rapper that raps about that rare subject matter."
I think we’ve had enough Akon, Ne-Yo & T-Pain for the decade on other peoples shit.

He’ll lay down a hook and a 14 year old girl in one night. Can..Can we relate to that?
I’ll have to cut this into parts as I have classes starting up soon.
Discuss whatever! I’m not looking for people who agree, so if you disagree, feel free to do so in a mature way, or immature way, whatever makes you feel badass on defsounds.

KING of D.S
but the blog as a whole sucked, you should have just posted pictures.
yes WE CAN
I Especially hate when niggas get on some shit and say someone murdered someone else on a song they did together. That shit is dumb. Yes, I too have admitted that someone may have had a better verse but not totally discredit the other person on the song. The funny thing is that all this shit started when Nas said it in “Ether”. Now all these faggots feel compelled to say “oh, so and so murked him on that!” Fuck outta here.
Rap fans kill me cuz Everbody’s a critic but nobody’s that talented. It’s like when you watch Iron chef and the judges consist of an actor, a wrestler, and a writer. WTF do you know about food other than that you consume it!! You can’t cook, so why should your opinion even matter?!smh But then again that’s just how I personally feel about it. If you can’t do it, you shouldn’t have such a strong opinion on it.Or you shouldn’t take your opinion so seriously, cuz at the end of the day, no one pays you for your opinion, so whats your point?
But looking at rap, It’s an American male dominated genre. And Americans(and males) are highly competitive, so beefs and fans arguing over whose better is unavoidable, unfortunately. Beefs do produce great music, but niggas never leave it on wax just to prove that they are “REAL”.smh Nas and Jay was one of the only rap beefs that could actually stay on wax. Niggas keep talking about Jay is scared to go after this guy and that guy but in actuality, he’s way too mature to engage in a battle with someone he knows isn’t gonna leave it on wax. Take every nigga that has made shots at him recently, out of any of them, who can you name that is a real lyricist that is about thier business and not about controversy.(50 and Beans included) Cuz “rap” ain’t about who can dish out an ass whooping, (that’s what the ring is for),it’s who can deliver that lyrical pummeling. But niggas are too easily confused and sucked into a rappers persona and character, that they ignore the actual skills they possess.(and who would win, based on that alone.smh
As far as relating, you said it all. I can’t really extend on that except for saying this:
Can you REALLY relate to the rappers that say they have on all thess diamonds, fuck 80 bitches a night, drive $100,000 cars, own a yacht, kill niggas, move boatloads of drugs? I don’t think so. you niggas are at home on your fucking pc.smh
You might can relate that they come from an enviroment like they did, but other than that, when do you do these things they are talking about?on that scale? my guess is never, unless alot of you niggas are kingpins, real pimps, and mobsters. but I know that’s not the case……nigga you’re on here!Wouldn’t you be too busy doing all “that” ,to do “this”. ….and that’s my point.
I like when rappers compete but it all comes down to the stan fans! Forever is a perfect example. Yes Eminem destroyed the other guys and I thought drake went in. Then I turn to sights like rapbasement.com and see eminem and lil wayne stans just bickering and threatening to go after each others moms… O_o
And I still say Kid Cudi and Drake deserved a verse on jays BP3 and J cole did not kill jay. I have never heard a person say that, “Just as cold as gold diggin hoe giving a broke nigga the cold shoulder” <—-from top of the head I dont feel like looking up the exact lyrics but seriously?
Thats not even a dam punchline just an obvious overplayed statement. “glow like a lightsaber” ….lol
i aint hatin on him i just dont see whats the lil hype about him is yet
Trash , i just prop the bullshit , I LOVE Bs so much
Bs bx ts bitccccccccch
Who killed who on a record? Thats not such a bad thing because its so opinionated. The thing is, it goes into overkill and gets tired…like rap beef.
The best part of ur blog-do rappers even care about hooks..(lol!!!)
HELLLLL NOOOOO!!!! If the fans are idiots and accept any trash that they are told is hot, why would the rappers change up? Give the dummies what they want! Mindless, talentless, careless…music.
This is why a talib kweli post can get 15 listens while gucci mane can get 60. Its the way of hip hop nowadays. Once again…great blog!
Akon: (Opens up a drawer full of pre-written hooks) “Uhh, yeah, I got one that’s just perfect for you or any other rapper that raps about that rare subject matter.”
hahahahahahaha yo this shit cracked me up so bad. but it was also true. i’m diggin the blog my man
Same shits boring, they jus aint worked that out yet.
